Carmakers, connected vehicle developers ask US FCC for more spectrum for vehicle connectivity

Carmakers, local transportation authorities and companies developing connected vehicle technologies are asking the US Federal Communications Commission for additional spectrum to deploy a technology that enhances vehicle connectivity, following an earlier decision by the agency to cut previously reserved spectrum for smart transportation applications, an industry group said.
