Calviño wins French, German encouragement for EIB presidency, denting Vestager's hopes

Spanish deputy prime minister Nadia Calviño's bid to run the European Investment Bank has received informal support from the finance ministers of France and Germany ahead of discussions on the topic expected at a ministerial summit today.
