Broadcom-VMware merger now formally under UK first-phase review

Broadcom’s $61 billion acquisition of virtualization software specialist VMware will be subject to a formal first-phase  investigation, the UK merger watchdog said today (see here).
The Competition and Markets Authority will decide by March 22 whether the deal warrants an in-depth review.
