Broadcom ‘confident’ of VMware deal after UK CMA intervention

Broadcom has said it’s confident its planned acquisition of VMware does not present any competition issues, after the UK’s competition regulator today said it would investigate the deal.

The chipmaker said in a statement it still expects the $61 billion merger to be completed by 2023.
