Autonomous vehicle legislation needed to clarify division of regulatory responsibilities, US DOT head says

A national regulatory framework for autonomous vehicles is needed to clarify the authorities of federal and state regulators, US Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg told Congress today.
Buttigieg was asked by several members of the Senate Commerce Committee about his department’s efforts in boosting the development of autonomous vehicles (AVs)
