Comment: Petrol’s dominance at Slovenian pumps could weigh in favor of MOL-OMV tie up

MOL’s effort to combine its Slovenian filling stations with those of its Austrian rival OMV hit a roadblock yesterday with the EU’s opening of a phase II investigation. 
Yet one factor stands out: the dominant national market share of the partially state-owned incumbent operator Petrol Group.
