Comment: EU markets-rules compromises follow familiar path in failing to please anyone

It’s a truism often cited in EU politics: The best compromise is one that makes everyone equally unhappy.
That does seem to hold true with the revamp of EU markets rules, which has finally seen lawmakers and governments agree a political deal after months of highly contentious negotiations (see here).
