US Commerce needs to speed decisions on contested metal tariff exclusions, congressional watchdog says

The US Commerce Department has reduced the backlog of applications for product exclusions from steel and aluminum tariffs since the launch of an online portal, but the agency still needs to develop procedures and reallocate resources to speed decisions for requests that receive objections, the Government Accountability Office said in a report
