UK police plans for ‘anomalous’ travel-data scanning raise privacy fears (update*)

UK commuters could see their travel data tracked, in a controversial plan to spot criminal activity — or people deemed vulnerable — by tapping into “underused” information revealing behavior and commute patterns, the head of British Transport Police has said.
