UK bank dividend rules may be relaxed to encourage lending amid Covid-19 fallout

UK banking rules on the distribution of dividends and bonuses may be temporarily relaxed in a bid to encourage lenders to aid an economy stricken by Covid-19, the Bank of England has said. 

A “reverse stress test” conducted by the BOE has shown that the economy would have to nosedive significantly beyond expectations
