Top EU enforcer Madero to retire from DG Comp in September

Cecilio Madero Villarejo will leave the European Commission in September, MLex understands, ending a 33-year career that latterly saw him heading the regulator’s antitrust and merger work, as well as leading the entire directorate general.
The move was originally planned for May, but the senior official was asked to stay on
