TikTok in Japan likely to be regulated by existing legal framework, ruling-party lawmaker says

In the wake of the ultimatum directed at TikTok in the US, where the popular app faces either a ban or new ownership (see here), a Japanese lawmakers’ group from the governing Liberal Democratic Party, or LDP, is accelerating a study on how to use existing regulations to protect Japanese citizens’
