Tencent, NetEase asked to avoid monopolies as China tightens gaming oversight

Chinese gaming giants Tencent and NetEase must refrain from getting monopolistic and instead focus on technological innovation, Chinese regulators have ordered, marking yet another attempt by the country to keep sprawling Big-Tech growth in check.

The order came just two months after China's antitrust regulator vetoed the merger of China's biggest video-game live-streaming
