Success of digital trade in international pacts questioned at USITC hearing

The US-Mexico-Canada Agreement is now widely considered the gold standard for upcoming trade deals, largely due to tech-oriented commitments that include data-privacy protections. The US International Trade Commission panel, however, struggled today to understand the effectiveness of those provisions in trade agreements.
