Smaller EU banks shouldn't get carveouts from already complex laws intended to avoid taxpayer bailouts of failing banks, a French official has said.

Lawmakers also appear skeptical about European Commission plans to offer extra carveouts for unlisted lenders from already complex EU crisis-management and state aid rules when they should
