Simon & Schuster CEO insists 'Big Five' publishers don't dominate US industry during Penguin Random House merger trial

Simon & Schuster Chief Executive Jonathan Karp contested the US government’s claim that the “Big Five” publishers dominate the market, on the third day of a trial over Penguin Random House’s proposed acquisition of Simon & Schuster.

In cross-examination by the defense, Karp highlighted several examples when Simon & Schuster has faced competition
