Senators appear divided on APRA despite unity on need for US federal privacy law

Senators at a commerce panel hearing today showed divisions on how privacy legislation should move forward – with Democrats pushing for the American Privacy Rights Act and Republicans skeptical about a private right of action and how the law could impact small business.
