Private equity firm agrees to $1 million settlement over compliance failures

Ares Management, a Los Angeles-based private equity firm, has agreed to pay $1 million to settle a Securities and Exchange Commission action over compliance failures related to insider information about a company in which it had invested.
Ares, which manages about $150 billion in assets, failed to set up procedures
