Microsoft, but not Amazon, escapes US court claims of violating Illinois biometric privacy law

Microsoft has escaped claims that it violated an Illinois privacy law by using biometric data to improve its facial recognition products and make a profit, but Amazon must face the same claims, a US federal judge ruled in separate decisions today.

There were no allegations that Microsoft disseminated and shared biometric data
