Merging parties must assume more responsibility, offer fixes for anticompetitive deals before approaching US DOJ, official says

Merging parties pursuing an anticompetitive transaction ought to offer fixes for mergers themselves instead of asking the government to “gerrymander” competition into a market, a senior US Department of Justice official said today.
