Lufthansa-ITA deal EU approval was not ‘political,’ Vestager says

EU approval for Deutsche Luthansa’s acquisition of 41 percent of rival Italia Trasporto Aereo was not politically motivated, competition commissioner Margrethe Vestager insisted in a press conference in Brussels today.
“On the question of whether the approval was political, it's our obligation to make sure that consumers still have choice.
