Law must change to go after companies allowing financial crime, UK lawmakers urge

Companies must be more easily prosecuted for failing to prevent economic crime, a cross-party group of UK lawmakers urged today, beyond current legislation that only punishes failures to prevent bribery or tax evasion.

“Gaps in existing law mean it is virtually impossible to criminally sanction companies for fraud, false accounting, or money laundering,”
