Kansai Electric, Chubu Electric, Chugoku Electric raided for suspected cartel by Japan regulator

Kansai Electric Power, Chubu Electric Power, and Chugoku Electric Power were raided today by Japan's competition enforcer on suspicions they were part of a power supply cartel for business users in central and western Japan.

This is the first collusion investigation into Japan's electricity retail market since the market was liberalized in 2000.
