Japan's Fukuoka fisheries co-op settles restrictive trade probe with JFTC over nori seaweed sales

A fisheries cooperative in Japan’s southern prefecture of Fukuoka settled an antitrust probe with Japan’s competition authority today, agreeing to release seaweed producers and wholesalers from a 70-year practice of restricting nori seaweed trade to the co-op auctions.
Japan Fair Trade Commission, or JFTC said it accepted a voluntary settlement
