India rejects UN assertion that new IT Rules breach international law

India has rejected as “misplaced, exaggerated and disingenuous” a suggestion by the United Nations that new rules for intermediaries breach international laws on privacy and freedom of expression. 
Downplaying the impact of the IT Rules, the Permanent Mission of India to the UN said the government sought only limited information
