IAG-Air Europa deal won’t get easy ride through failing-firm defense, EU official says (correct*)

IAG has not persuaded EU merger regulators to soften its line on companies in crisis when assessing the airline group's acquisition of Air Europa, according to a senior EU official.

If the European Commission were to accept that Air Europa would go out of business if the merger doesn't happen
