Halkbank sanctions case can proceed in US court, judge says

Turkey's Halkbank isn't immune from prosecution for allegedly violating US sanctions on Iran, a US federal judge said, rejecting the bank's motion to dismiss charges against it. 

A statue limiting the prosecution of foreign sovereigns doesn't apply to criminal cases, US District Judge Richard Berman said in a decision published yesterday (see here).
