Green implications of mergers should be assessed, national regulators tell EU

The environmental implications of mergers should be taken into account in competition reviews, national regulators have told the European Commission.

The suggestions came among 188 replies to a commission consultation on how EU competition policy could better support the Green Deal, which aims to make the bloc’s economy reach net-zero emissions
