Green finance digitalization opportunities are ‘extraordinary,’ senior BOE official says

Financing the real economy’s transition to net-zero greenhouse-gas emissions will be made easier, faster and cheaper through technological solutions such as the blockchain, a Bank of England senior adviser said today.

The sheer volume of products and assets that need to be made sustainable — either via substitution or retrofitting — creates a “powerful” opportunity
