Gift certificates and prepaid cards to come under tighter AML scrutiny in Japan

Japan’s financial regulator has added digital gift certificates and prepaid credit cards to the list of digital payments and assets that should come under tighter anti-money laundering scrutiny, as the country takes on an overhaul of its AML and measures against terrorism financing.
