German emergency gas plan on 'alert' amid Russian supply cuts, high prices

Germany's emergency gas plan was raised to its second-highest concern level earlier today due to a cut in Russian gas supplies and the higher market prices.

The country's climate ministry is now considering the situation at the "alert level" — the second of levels: early warning, alert and emergency.
