German carmakers' joint AdBlue plans steered clear of cartel concerns, EU letter shows

Discussions between Daimler, Volkswagen, Audi, Porsche and BMW on developing a software platform as well as minimum standards for clean-engine technology didn’t fall foul of EU antitrust law, while other discussions related to AdBlue systems were worthy of a 875 million-euro fine.
