French banks can't require mortgage borrowers to deposit salary in full, EU court rules

French banks can't require home-loan borrowers to hold their main bank account with the same institution, the EU’s highest court has said.

Mortgage holders can't be required to deposit their full salary at the same lender, judges ruled, following an earlier court opinion that said the tying of banking products breached
