Facebook, Google and Netflix hit with fines in South Korea for loose privacy controls

Facebook, Google and Netflix have been fined a total of 6.7 billion won (about $5.7 million) and issued corrective orders for loose privacy controls, South Korea's privacy watchdog announced today.

In a statement (see here), the Personal Information Protection Commission, or PIPC, said the US platform giants breached the country’s privacy
