EU tech gatekeeper rules should set 'global standard,' Portugal's Siza Vieira says

The risk of digital platforms stifling competition justifies a new set of EU rules that should become a "global standard" for regulation, Portugal's economy minister said.

Pedro Siza Vieira, who has chaired ministerial talks on the EU's Digital Markets Act, said the rules would guard against a fragmented approach in Europe.
