EU banks' dividend ban extended to December, but excludes scrip, units

EU banks can’t pay dividends at all this year, the European Central Bank said today — but supervisors offered a couple of getouts that might help lenders escape those rules.

The recommendation (see here) comes as forecasters warn an ongoing Covid-19 crisis could leave the euro area’s lending-focused banks dashing to replace extra market
