EU banks allowed 'precautionary' state funding as Brussels invokes Covid-19 exception

EU banks can get state resources without having to be wound up, after the European Commission triggered emergency provisions set out in the bloc's resolution laws, citing the Covid-19 crisis.

The move means distressed lenders within the bloc can get emergency public capital injections without being deemed to be failing
