Conditional acquittal of Malaysian lawmaker in bribery case reignites fears of corruption

A Malaysian lawmaker was granted a discharge not amounting to an acquittal by a Malaysian court in a high-profile corruption trial yesterday following a request from prosecutors.
Former Federal Territories Minister Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor had been charged with accepting a bribe of 1 million ringgit ($246,000) from a businessman.
