Competitive energy markets, new gas rules needed for EU climate targets, Simson says

Energy markets across the EU will have to remain liquid and competitive to curb greenhouse-gas emissions at an affordable price, the European Commission’s energy chief Kadri Simson has said.

“It is important to ensure competition and the liquidity of markets: these remain a prerequisite to finding the most cost-effective decarbonization pathways,”
