China’s data-security initiative will tackle security concerns, top government official says

A new Chinese global initiative on data security would tackle new security challenges in the face of a fast-developing digital economy, Foreign Minister Wang Yi announced today, in a move that addresses mounting concerns over Chinese companies’ use of data gathered abroad.
