Canada seeks removal of US safeguard tariffs on solar goods under North American trade pact proceedings

Canada is using a dispute-settlement system under the North American trade agreement to challenge the US over safeguard tariffs imposed on Canadian solar products, arguing the measures violate the spirit of the accord. 

“These tariffs are unwarranted,” said Mary Ng, Canada's minister of small business, export promotion and international trade, in a statement
