Brazil president signs Administrative Improbity Law in perceived setback for anticorruption efforts

Brazil President Jair Bolsonaro today signed into law the Administrative Improbity Law, which makes it harder for authorities to administratively punish public officials involved in corrupt acts.

Under the new law, public officials may now be punished only if authorities can prove that the corrupt acts were done in bad faith or willingly
