Biometric ID systems could see specific EU rules, draft policy paper suggests

Biometric identification systems could be subject to future EU rules to ensure their use is proportionate, a draft European Commission document seen by MLex suggests.

The document is an updated version of the EU executive's policy paper on artificial intelligence (see here) and specifically calls for the option to set rules
