Bharti Airtel telecom investment prompts Google to seek Indian merger clearance

Google has sought merger clearance for its initial investment of $700 million for a 1.28 percent stake in India's second-largest mobile network operator, Bharti Airtel.

In a statement, Airtel said the partnership would lead to affordable access to smartphones across price ranges and would explore opportunities to create “India-specific network domain use cases
