Beny Steinmetz sees Vale abandon $1.2 billion fraud claim as filed too late

Israeli mining tycoon Beny Steinmetz has escaped Vale's $1.2 billion fraud case against him mid-trial after the Brazilian miner accepted that its lawsuit had been lodged too late. 
Vale had sued Steinmetz and seven other defendants, including companies believed to be controlled by the businessman, over a joint venture it struck
