Belgian Data Protection Authority faces audit after lawmakers question its independence

The Belgian Data Protection Authority is facing a review by the country’s Court of Audit following a request by lawmakers last month to examine the authority’s efficiency and independence, a parliament member told MLex.

The lawmakers received complaints from two members of the regulator's five-person executive committee on the potential lack of independence
