Barnier rebuffs UK claims that EU's Brexit negotiating position is unreasonable

The UK has no automatic right to the same treatment as other EU trade partners, and exchanging public letters "cannot be a substitute for serious engagement and detailed negotiations," the EU's chief negotiator has said in a public letter.
