Apple’s iOS monopoly power could be curbed with the introduction of “middleware” app stores that work across mobile operating systems, allowing users to switch more easily between the two dominant ecosystems offered by Apple and Google, Epic Games expert Susan Athey testified today at the US antitrust trial in California.
