Apple, Google stress privacy in digital contact-tracing effort

Digital contact tracing won’t work without privacy protection, executives from Apple and Google said this afternoon.

The Silicon Valley behemoths have pledged to roll out updates to their mobile operating systems that will allow public health authorities to notify individuals who have been in contact with victims of the novel coronavirus.
