Amid contention over connected cars, Japan's METI likely to urge further study on SEP negotiations

In its study of patent issues related to connected cars, a group under Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, or METI, is likely to recommend in a report expected this summer that further deliberations are needed on the issue of negotiating standard-essential patents, or SEPs. The group likely won't yet issue
